Description
The Radiographer Assistant Technician functions under the supervisor of a graduate radiographer. The Radiographer Assistant Technician performs diagnostic general radiography procedures according to established departmental procedures and within national standard timeframes, maintains clerical functions associated with departmental procedures and maintains current knowledge of radiology and actively participates in continuing education programs.
Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.
Performs all general radiography procedures associated with the department, including development of digital images and prep of contrast media, as appropriate.
Orients patients to procedure, obtains patient history and verifies that informed consent is signed.
Transports patients to and from department.
Files and retrieves radiology files.
Completes all necessary documentation in patient and department files.
Enters HIS/RIS/PAC's data into computer systems.
Completes quality assurance studies as directed.
Maintains current knowledge appropriate to tests.
Assists other members of the department to assure that quality patient care is provided.
Maintains work areas in well-organized and neat manner.
Demonstrates awareness of self-responsibility and accountability for personal professional growth.
Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.
Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in professional development opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Completes annual educational requirements.
Understands and adheres to Bell's compliance standards as they appear in Bell's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
X Student of a AMA approved school of radiology technology.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
