Job Title: Traveler MRI Technologist
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Traveler MRI Technologist to join our team for temporary assignments across various healthcare facilities. The MRI technologist will operate MRI equipment, perform diagnostic scans as directed by physicians, screen patients for safety, and ensure their comfort during procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting MRI equipment and training junior staff when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Review patient histories and conduct screenings for contraindications such as pacemakers or injuries involving metal objects.
Prepare and administer contrast dyes, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Address patient concerns, explaining the MRI procedure and ensuring a calm experience throughout the scan.
Perform regular inspections and troubleshooting of MRI equipment, scheduling maintenance or repairs as necessary.
Position patients and perform MRI scans according to physicians' instructions and specifications.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized MRI room, following all safety protocols.
Train and mentor junior MRI technologists and provide support to new staff members.
Document and report scan results, escalating issues to relevant stakeholders as needed.
Implement quality assurance procedures and recommend improvements for scanning processes.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in radiologic technology, MRI, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Valid state licensure and MRI certification.
Strong analytical, observational, and technical skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex procedures.
Ability to work independently in various healthcare environments and manage time effectively.
Superb bedside manner and ability to collaborate with diverse medical teams.
Experience in high-pressure settings, with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
