Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a RADIOLOGY PROCEDURE ASSISTANT to join our team!

The Radiology Procedure Assistant is a member of the patient care team in Imaging Services, under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Team Leader, Registered Nurses, the Imaging Services Management group and Radiologists. The Radiology Procedure Assistant provides technical assistance to Technologists and Radiologists performing diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. The Radiology Procedure Assistant assists in maintaining supplies and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with hospital and clinic policies and the strict observance of confidentiality of patient information.

HOURS: Full Time or .8 FTE, 64 hours every pay period. Day shift.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a CNA certification, EMT, or other healthcare related education/certification.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of invasive equipment beneficial, e.g., wires, catheters, connectors, drainage bags, stents, balloons, etc.
  • Previous work experience in an acute care setting or operating room environment beneficial.
  • Surgical tech experience beneficial.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • Possesses and maintains allied health related certification (e.g., Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), MA or EMT) desired.
