Location: 4200 Sun N Lake Blvd, Sebring, FL 33872

The role you'll contribute: Radiology Technologist Physician Office

• Assists team members to maintain quality patient care.

• Performs all exams using established protocols. Uses facility policy for proper identification of patient prior to performing exam. Educates patient concerning exam. Properly screens patients for any contrast allergies

• Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary

• Properly screens patients of childbearing age and operates all imaging equipment in a safe manner minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers. Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents. Maintains properly stocked, organized and clean room

• Position's patient and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist's / Provider's standards, in a safe, timely manner

• Performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient record, filing, and scheduling

• Performs direct patient care duties, within technologist's scope of practice. Utilizes proper infection control techniques

• Performs basic patient care, including monitoring of patient condition, caring for patient comfort, safety, and privacy. Obtains and documents patient history and explains procedures

• Assists providers, when needed.

• Attends department meetings.

• Complies with The Joint Commission requirements related to their duties.

• Complies with regulations under the HIPAA law.

• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and AHMG policies related to emergencies.

• Demonstrates organized approach to daily workload.

• Document and report any patient incident or report of concern in a prompt and timely manner.

• Documents as appropriate in patients' electronic medical record (PACS, Cerner, other).

• Establish factors to produce quality images.

• Maintain radiation protections standards. (ALARA).

• Utilizes the Image Wisely and Image Gently approach with every patient.

• Prepares and utilizes contrast media appropriately.

• Takes verbal orders and documents appropriately in patients' medical record.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Appropriate technical skills in imaging

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Academic & Clinical training in Radiology technology

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Current, valid CPR certification

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• 1-year medical office experience
