Radiology Technologist

MedStar Health is looking for a Radiology Technologist t o join our team at Medstar Health: Orthopedics at Reisterstown! The ideal candidate will be a registered Radiology Technologist with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform diagnostic medical radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures through interpretation, EKGs, phlebotomy, IV insertions, autologous and therapeutic donations, and obtain vital signs.

Primary Duties:

• Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Transport patients to radiographic room as needed. Prepares and maintains room.

• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order. Performs preventative maintenance regularly.

• Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures. Obtains vital signs, as indicated , along with required documentation. Prepares written documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports. Access, manipulate, store and Create CD's from PACS.

• Performs radiographic examinations. May assist a licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic, specialized interventional procedures. May perform non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as appropriate and consistent with applicable state statutes.

• Requests and orders supply as needed to keep materials on hand. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be re-stocked.

Qualifications:

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Radiology Technology license in the State of Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia .

• Associate degree preferred.
