A Newrest Ramp Safety Coordinator is responsible for auditing team member performance and processes to ensure safe behaviors and outcomes. This role partners with the operations teams to develop and drive a healthy safety culture, including conducting audits, reporting on findings, coaching team members, analyzing trends, and improving behaviors and processes. This role is part of the Safety and Training team.

Skills and Knowledge

• Evaluate compliance on the ramp (perform audit of ramp operations) & take immediate corrective actions (including reporting to HR for disciplinary measures).

• Guide and ensure safe operations on the ramp.

• Coach the drivers on the ramp when immediate correction is required.

• Complete flight audits which are expected to be conducted outside of the vehicle and be interactive with the driver/guide teams. Proactive intervention should be exercised anytime an actual or potential risk arises.

• Conduct dock audit with address/correct failures and safety violations observed at the dock; improper chocking, reversing without a guide and other unsafe practices.

• Complete reports and send update via What'sApp safety auditor group immediately following the shift including date, supervisor on duty, number of audits completed, including amount passed/failed, explanation if quota is not met, details of incidents or accidents that occurred and coaching if applicable

• Ensure compliance with all Newrest, airport, civil aviation, security, and local regulatory standards and provide guidance and clarification on these regulations.

• Work with operations team to deliver effective safety briefings and proactive safety communication programs.

• Support safety training initiatives.

• Continuously identify, assess, and reduce/eliminate health and safety risks.

• Investigate accidents, injuries, and safety opportunities then complete associated reports and make recommendations for corrective actions.

• Safely operate company vehicles according to all policies, including pre-shift inspections and end of shift clean out.

• Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to increase performance.
