This position reports to
R&D Department Lead
Your role and responsibilities
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is: onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Business. You will be mainly accountable for: • Execute designs in a solid model system (CREO) and release all documentation through Windchill PLM • Support sample construction and testing following all required safety protocols • Document design robustness using simulations, analysis and testing methods • Present material for technical reviews including but not limited to tolerance loops, ANSYS analysis, test results, drawing documentation and BOMs • Learn and support manufacturing readiness through review of Design for Manu-facturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies and the ability to interact with cross-functional teams • Ensure that development documentation protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established QA process and ISO 9001 • Mentoring and networking opportunities • Personal and professional development programing will be offered to all interns. This programing will include global and local sessions

Qualifications for the role
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical or electrical Engineering or equivalent, in the United States.
- Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
- Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
- Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
