R&D Manager - Plant Based Cheese

CSG Talent have partnered with a high growth cheese manufacturer who are looking to hire an R&D Manager to play a key role in the development of plant based product lines.

The business has invested heavily in facilities & are now looking to do the same within their product development team to ensure innovative, high quality products are brought to market within the plant based industry, in line with strategic growth plans.

We are seeking an individual with 4-6 years of experience who is keen to progress into a management role. You will focus on on exploring ingredients, leading product and process development / improvement, applications work, and scale-up before building out a team as the role develops.

Responsibilities:

• Lead assigned projects in the areas of ingredients testing and product-process development / improvement from concept to scale up.
• Lead exploring novel and alternate ingredients and technologies and in assigned areas.
• Responsible for providing product samples for cross-functional evaluation and for customers.
• Lead related applications work as well as analytical work, shelf life and sensory studies.
• Document R&D work and prepare and submit reports maintaining confidentiality.
• Lead / Participate in scale up and commercialization at remote facilities as required.
• Provide technical expertise and support to customers and different functions of the business.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of strong R&D and applications experience in plant-based dairy and food products settings (Post-graduation counted towards experience).
• Additional experience in dairy cheeses or fermented dairy products is a plus.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of food processes, ingredients, chemistry, rheology, functionalities, shelf life, sensory & analyses, and safety.
• Sound knowledge of proteins, lipids, hydrocolloids, emulsions.
• Ability to lead and deliver quality work within the project timeline.
• Innovative hands on leader with adaptability and integrity.
