The Real Estate Intern position, under the direction of the Vice President of Real Estate, is responsible for preparing and organizing research and asset management data, developing inventory lists, and completing timely and accurate data entry. They will also conduct market research and analyze financial statements. The intern must be able to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally to develop business cases. Additionally, they must be able to analyze market trends and determine competitive pricing for sale prices and lease rates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Participate in market analysis.
  • Conduct property searches.
  • Assist in calculations and quantitative analysis and research.
  • Create and maintain inventory of HVAC equipment at commercial properties.
  • Assist in leasing rental units, responding to inquiries, qualify applicants, showing vacant units, prepare lease paperwork and accurately input lead information.
  • Participate in follow-up with prospective residents.
  • Assist with inspecting residences and commercial spaces with prior to new tenants taking occupancy, filling out inspection forms, and reviewing lease paperwork and property rules.
  • Obtain knowledge in the management of lease renewals, tracking expenses, recording notices to vacate and interviewing tenants for reason, preparing lease expiration letters and renewal leases.
  • Assist in accurate data collection and entry.
  • Obtain knowledge to comply with all Fair Housing regulations and Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act and Code of Virginia applying to the sale or rental of housing and leasing of commercial spaces.
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing key performance indicator measures for Procurement sections.
  • Assist with advising Property Managers of conditions at properties affecting tenant safety.
  • Assists with codifying existing procedures in University Standard formats.
  • Assists in documenting new policy related to University procurement process and procedures.
  • Assist with special assignments as requested.
  • Maintain business dress code at all times.
  • Any other duties as necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Customer Service experience.
  • Pursuing Degree in related field or equivalent experience.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current student at Liberty University.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan.
  • Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i))
