Real Time Remote Center Drilling Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Drilling Engineer for an employer located in downtown Houston. The Wells Support Center is in place to prevent a catastrophic process safety event and provide business units with workflows and digital solutions to deliver top quartile performance. The DSC provides an additional layer of process safety (well control) support for wells as well as performance support for operations including Deepwater, Base Business and Unconventional asset classes. Delivery of these process safety and performance services puts the DSC at the center of Wells global operations. This role will be onsite in downtown houston working a 14 day on, 14 day off schedule and will rotate day and night shift.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience (or 5+ years with a BS in Engineering) in a Drilling Engineer role

Must be able to pass sub-sea well control school within the first 6 months

Minimum of a High School Diploma required, Bachelor of Science-Engineering is preferred

Remote center/real time operation center experience (Parameter monitoring and optimization: ability to recognize and communicate opportunities to improve on-bottom drilling performance in real time)

Directional Drilling: Ability to identify directional concerns, communicate with directional services provider, and recommend potential mitigations to Ops team (e.g. DLS, poor yields, rotating tendencies, etc.).

Competent in navigating data visualization software, gaining actionable insight, and providing timely recommendations (e.g. Power BI, Spotfire, etc.)

Drill string / Landing string design: ability to understand DS/LS design requirements and verify operations executed within design criteria (e.g. Slip crush analysis, Landing string capacity, etc.)

Provide recommendations and actionable insight to customer stakeholders that assist in delivering results and achieving aspirational targets.

Demonstrated industry experience in design, planning, and execution of complex wells. Leverage experience to influence operation decisions and drive performance.

Previous operator experience at other oil companies (Demonstrate industry experience in design, planning, and execution of complex wells. Leverage experience to influence operation decisions and drive performance)

Able to work 14 days on/14 days off, up to 21 days, 12- hour shifts (alternating rotations of day and night shift)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous experience across multiple areas, onshore and offshore, and various rig types is desired
