Job Duties

The records clerk is responsible for checking in and returning lower tribunal records, contacting lower tribunals about overdue records, updating the case management system, typing correspondence, uploading digital records to network drives, reviewing records for compliance with Court rules, preparing records on appeal to the Supreme Court of the United States, and preparing records for plenary hearings. This person is also responsible for criminal case assignments, checking for judicial conflicts, processing pro hac vice applications, monitoring various reports, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful applicant will be well organized, detail-oriented, able to type 50 wpm or more, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Applicants must also be team players, able to work independently, communicate clearly and effectively, and prioritize and complete numerous tasks in a timely manner.

Additional Considerations

Most competitive applicants will have 3-5 years of experience in a legal or court setting, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.
