Summary

Coordinator-Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) coordinates all activities associated with the chart audits and status tracking for RAC, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and Managed Care governmental audits related to denial issues. Identifies risks and trends, facilitating cross-departmental tactical actions.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in health care, business, health information management, nursing or related is required.

High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of experience with RAC and other governmental audits may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Experience

3 years of experience with RAC and other governmental audits, or denials, coding, billing, or documentation auditing in a hospital, outpatient clinical setting or physician's office is required. Experience with CMS regulations, billing compliance; Medicare, Medicaid, or other third-party payer reimbursement methodologies is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse is preferred.
