Duties

  • Required to inspect the playing surface before a contest to ensure that it is properly configured and that there are no safety hazards.
  • Enforce the rules before and during games.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the sports is played safely.
  • Place the welfare of players above all else.
  • Required to be positive role model in behavior during games.

  • Proof of education is required at the time of application.
  • Good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease (verified through physical examination). Immunizations must be current including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.

  • All required background checks of AR 215-3 and the Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained, including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
  • A current health assessment is required. Immunizations are required including annual flu vaccination. Vision sufficient to execute job requirements.
  • Physical demands: Stamina sufficient to stand, walk, run, or squat for long periods of time commensurate with the sport to be officiated. The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs (heavier items with assistance).

  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.


Qualifications

1. Substantial knowledge of the rules of the sport to be officiated as evidenced by documented training sessions or seminars that instructed specific rules and regulations, or extensive experience coaching and/or playing the sport which would have provided the same level of knowledge or

2. Possession of a valid license or recognized national association credential or certificate for sports officials.
