Job Description:

As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our residents by:

• Planning and orchestrating captivating large and small group programs that cater to the social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and cognitive needs of our diverse adult population.
• Safely transporting residents to and from activities on a daily basis, ensuring their comfort and enjoyment.
• Maintaining meticulous documentation, including assessments, progress notes, program attendance, and participation records.
• Conducting Therapeutic Recreation assessments upon admission for Short-Term Care (STC) and Long-Term Care (LTC) residents.

Specific Requirements:

• We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualities:
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to handle interactions with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public with tact and sensitivity.
• A patient, cheerful disposition, and boundless enthusiasm for creating a positive and uplifting environment.
• Availability to work one weekend day to ensure our residents receive continuous care and enjoyment.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

• To be eligible for this position, you should have the following qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field, such as Art or Music Therapy.
• Spanish-speaking abilities are a valuable asset, although not a requirement.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Short-Term Care (STC) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting with a focus on geriatric populations is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with documentation systems such as MDS and Sigma Care are considered advantageous.
