Specializes in registering and appointing patients by working internal or external provider referrals and requests for consult. Gleans information from referrals from a variety of formats and entry points. Acts as liaison between referring providers, patients, and clinicians. Escalates patients' health concerns in accordance with division guidelines, provides connections to resources for clinical advice and guidance and navigates complex situations while making sound effective decisions.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and 1 year or more of experience in Scheduling/Patient Access role. Skills required: Medical terminology. Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette. Excellent computer skills.

Preferred Requirements

Associates Degree in Medical Assisting. 4 years or more of experience in healthcare scheduling and referral coordination. Certified Medical Assistant with active AAMA certification.
