The Referral Coordinator implements, maintains, and executes procedures and processes by which the company performs its referral and authorization process. This individual will be responsible for obtaining preauthorization for office visits, imaging dept, surgical dept, and lab. This position responds to inquiries from patients, staff, and physicians pertaining to referral authorization questions. This person also researches medical history and diagnostic tests when requested. Additionally, they assist in the review, processing, and coordination of prospective, concurrent, and retrospective referrals.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a referral care coordinator or an authorization specialist
- Experience working with OneHealthPort, Carelon, or Availty
- Prior experience working for health plan or medical facility
- Proficient with pre-authorization tasks
- Experience submitting authorization & referral requests through various channels (website, phone, fax)
