Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Master's Degree, Specific Degree: Nursing, Healthcare Systems Engineering, Healthcare Management or Equivalent
  • Preferred Professional Certification
    Specific Cert.: CPHQ, CPPS, Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Minimum 8-10 years related experience
Experience & Knowledge:

  • Experience in healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, or risk management in multiple facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, data analysis, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PDSA cycles).
Skills:
  • Proficiency in developing educational materials, training modules, and workshops tailored to diverse audiences, including clinical staff, administrators, and frontline healthcare workers.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts related to patient safety, high reliability, and quality improvement in a clear and accessible manner, fostering understanding and engagement among stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating interactive learning experiences, simulations, and case studies to promote active participation and knowledge retention.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including hospital leadership, regulatory agencies, professional associations, and community partners.
  • Skill in aligning diverse perspectives, interests, and priorities to achieve common goals related to patient safety, quality improvement, and high reliability.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, fostering consensus, and navigating complex organizational dynamics to drive strategic initiatives forward effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and influence change at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership ability, including the capacity to inspire and motivate others, foster a culture of safety, and drive organizational change initiatives.

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% US travel

Qualifications

Position Summary:

Collaborates with corporate partners and facility teams to operationalize key strategic initiatives of UHS Acute Care Division by driving the successful implementation of processes to achieve high reliability in patient care and safety. Directly engages with assigned facilities to support staff and leaders to drive initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, reducing medical errors, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Facilitates feedback and provides oversight for analysis, establishing ongoing structures and processes to support the program.
