The University of Virginia Department of Anesthesiology seeks ABA certified or eligible candidate to join the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine Division.
The Department has an enduring commitment to teaching and the interested candidates must have a strong interest in combining clinical practice with resident and fellow education and/or research. Our Regional and Acute Pain Medicine Division is currently composed of twelve faculty members, two ACGME accredited fellowship positions and two non-accredited fellowship positions. The department performs more than 8,000 peripheral nerve blocks and continuous catheters annually at both the thirty-five ORs main hospital and twelve- OR outpatient surgical center. The new Orthopedic Hospital is expected to be completed in 2022. The division performs more than 2,500 neuraxial techniques annually and participates in peri-operative consults daily.
Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree. The positions are open rank, open tenure. The department offers a competitive salary, benefits and incentives with generous non-clinical time for academic and administrative pursuits.
