As Regional Head of Claims - North America, you'll oversee all aspects of the claims process, with a strong focus on driving automation and efficiency. This position offers a hybrid work schedule at our beautifully renovated office in Richmond, VA, and reports directly to the Head of Operations, Travel Americas.

What you will do:

  • Oversee operational aspects of the claims departments across the region, including tracking and analysis of budgets, managing project plans, coordinating quality assurance programs, and promoting interdepartmental communications.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members, supporting their career development, and managing relationships within and across departments to enhance overall claim handling activities.
  • Ensure achievement of all statistical service standards for claims, quality, productivity and budget across US and Canada, including appropriate scores on all customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Responsible for overall effectiveness and efficient resolution of all claims and ensure claims are being reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Drive the integration and optimization of automation technologies in the claims process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review payments for financial accuracy in compliance with the policy benefits on claim payments.
  • Manage claims inventory and ensure timely distribution and review in cooperation with department manager(s).
  • Balance and manage external and internal client needs and expectations with customer service and internal capabilities.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives across the region to align claims operations with broader organizational goals.
  • Identify and research broken processes and pertinent client issues; develop, recommend and implement improvements in collaboration with other departments.
  • Plan and lead regional team meetings to disseminate important updates on customer service, products, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental communication and issue resolution.
  • Attend client calibration meetings to identify areas for improved customer service and communicate those improvements to the department manager.
  • Accountable for effective implementation of new program launches for department.


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or related field or combination of relevant education and work experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in claims management within the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing regional teams, including mentoring and coaching staff, overseeing operational processes, and managing complex claims.
  • Profound knowledge and practical experience in digital transformation and automation technologies relevant to the insurance industry.
  • Preferred Experience in claims management within the Canadian property and casualty insurance industry. Demonstrated understanding of Canadian insurance regulations, practices, and market conditions, including familiarity with provincial and federal compliance requirements


Travel Requirements: Expected to travel up to 25% of the time between US and Canada
