A thriving utility product distribution company headquartered on the East Coast is searching for a Regional Sales Manager to join their team! They are seeking a driven sales professional with the ambition to grow into a leadership role. This position is suited for someone with a strong background in utility sales and experience in managing or overseeing independent contractors. The right candidate will be ready to take on the challenge of building a successful sales team while also contributing directly to sales efforts. This is a fully remote position with about 50% travel required, primarily on the East Coast with occasional West Coast travel. Candidates must be based in Alabama, Tennessee or Georgia.

Regional Sales Manager Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in selling underground utilities, particularly municipal type products like valves and fittings.
  • Experience selling to large distributors
  • Proven experience in bidding on municipal projects or securing inclusion in project specifications
  • Ambition and potential to grow into a director-level role
  • Bachelor s degree preferred; substantial industry experience may substitute
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • Must live in Alabama, Tennessee or Georgia

Regional Sales Manager Responsibilities:
  • Travel up to 50%, primarily on the East Coast, with some West Coast travel for trade shows and sales office visits
  • Oversee 15 independent manufacturers' representatives, who are 1099 contractors
  • Expected to build a small sales team (1-3 people) over the next year, though no immediate personnel management is required
  • Understand and optimize current processes with manufacturer's representatives, ensuring accountability
  • Participate in the integration of new ERP and CRM systems.
  • Focus on customer-specific trade shows and potentially expanding to direct-to-consumer sales, depending on opportunities.
