SCHEDULE: Full Time
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 50% - 75%

COMPENSATION: $108,840.00 to $243,613.00 base salary plus potential annual uncapped incentive based upon sales production. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity

The Regional Vice President of Agricultural Lending provides strategic leadership of the ag retail sales team in achieving portfolio growth while maintaining sound loan quality and credit administration. Leads and coaches Financial Officers to provide an exceptional customer experience through the delivery of financial services, consistent with regional, state and association goals. Responsible for maximizing market potential and providing the strategic direction of the assigned agricultural retail region and the associated portfolio.
How You Will Spend Your Time
  • Providing strategic leadership for the overall customer experience/relationship, sales delivery and credit function for the assigned agricultural region.
  • Leading the region's business development plan, including marketplace analysis and marketing plans.
  • Understanding and engaging in the development of the local marketplace from an advocacy and growth perspective.
  • Aligning regional goals and results to state and association goals measured by sales numbers, credit quality, credit administration, effective servicing and financial results.
  • Achieving results by leading others on their team, defining team operating standards as well as influencing and collaborating with team members in other areas of the organization. Participates in team projects to contribute to the association strategy.
  • Modeling organizational values, inspiring a shared vision and holding the teams accountable for culture preservation and growth.
  • Leading the credit philosophy in the assigned region, including developing Financial Officer credit skills and participating in consensus underwriting as needed and as defined.
  • Monitoring the quality of loan portfolios, establishing and granting lending authorities as well as reviewing loans.
  • Exercising management authority in performance reviews, compensation decisions, recruitment, discipline, and other employment decisions developing skills, coaching, and retention.
  • Conducting joint sales calls and credit administration reviews to coach and develop sales team members and/or provide meaningful feedback to the Directors of Retail Operations.
  • Apply acquired expertise and knowledge of agriculture industry trends and innovations to increase value to the association.
  • Maintains external relationships, manages productive relationships, and participates in industry organizations and events to gain knowledge, share information, and enhance the association's image.
Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in business, agriculture or related field. 4 to 6 years progressively responsible sales/credit experience, one to two of which have been in a leadership role or having demonstrated leadership capabilities.

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
