This position is for a registered dietitian to work on a funded research project evaluating the effects of fasted versus fed exercise on menstrual cycle function. The primary responsibilities of the registered dietitian are to provide recommendations for meal frequency and fueling around exercise sessions through consultation with research participants. Secondary responsibilities would include data entry and monitoring of kilocalorie and carbohydrate intake through use of the USDA Automated Self-Administered Dietary Assessment (ASA24) online platform.

Job Duties:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing, through consultation with research participants over the phone, recommendations for daily meal frequency and meal composition for pre-, during-, and post-exercise sessions. Recommendations will be overseen by the principal investigator but will be made at the discretion of the registered dietitian.
  • Online entry of 24 h dietary recall data collected from the USDA Automated Self-Administered Dietary Assessment (ASA24) platform.
  • Calculating energy availability from dietary recall kilocalorie and body composition data.
  • Calculating carbohydrate intake per kg lean body mass from dietary recall and body composition data.


Work Location: Remote

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

This is a temporary position expected to last 24 months.

Salary Range: $100 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of external grant funding. Funding is currently expected to last 2 years, until June 2027.

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • Priority will be given to applications submitted by August 16, 2024. However, this posting will remain open until filled.
  • The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor/principal investigator will be the week of August 19, 2024.

  • The potential employee start date is September 2024.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Master's degree in nutrition
  • Registered Dietitian licensure or registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Experience with nutrition consultations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using the ASA24 or comparable dietary recall software
  • Experience providing nutrition consultations to athletic populations

  • Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sounds
