Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and evaluate programs and activities of the Food Services Department (food handling, sanitation, preparation, services, procedures and equipment)
• Ensure that charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive of services provided and of resident's response to service
• Participate in Quality Assurance programs, and any facility committee or programs, which seeks to improve the performance and accuracy of resident care.
• Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident
• Assist in developing a written dietary plan of care that identifies the dietary problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each.
• Review nurses' note to determine if the care plan is being followed. Discuss problem areas with the Director of Nursing Services.
• Interpret and evaluate information on a patient's chart and make recommendations for appropriate medical nutrition therapy.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters in Nutrition, Dietetics or related discipline
• Be a graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association
• Must a licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of New Hampshire
• Must provide documentation of registry/certificate upon application for position.
• At least two years' experience as a professional dietitian in long term care with some administrative responsibility or one year experience as a registered consulting dietitian to one or more long term care facilities.
