Duration: 09+ Months Contract
Shift Hours: 6:30am to 4pm PST
Work Schedule: 9/80 (Mom-Fri)
Monday thru Thursday 6:30am-4:00pm, Every other Friday 6:30-3:00pm
Security Clearance: No

Job Description:
  • Provides nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities.
  • Delivers OSHA and job/site required surveillance program services such as hearing conservation or biological monitoring to employee populations in collaboration with appropriate functional teams.
  • Maintains accurate recordkeeping in compliance with OSHA requirements; provides health promotion and disease prevention strategies; provides counselling, health education and training programs as applicable.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • May work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers.

What is the scope of work/project for this position?
  • Provides nursing services to employees who become ill or suffer an injury, Administer first-aid;
  • Dispenses standard OTC medicines such as aspirin/cough or cold tablets, pain relievers; attends subsequent dressings of injuries;
  • Maintains records of person treated; prepares reports;
  • Provides health education information;
  • Refers serious injuries or illnesses beyond first-aid to local Occupational Health clinic, primary care physician, urgent care or activate emergency services 911;
  • Performs OSHA required health monitoring exams (blood draw, urine collection, audio, respirator, vision exams);
  • Administers vaccines and TB skin test;
  • Screens employees for return to work clearance collaborating with the leave absence desk and/or employees manager for acceptance of work restrictions/accommodations;
  • Administers company policy in regards to Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace-coordinating drug/alcohol testing for Reasonable Suspicion or EAP random program;
  • Supports Corporate Health and Wellness Programs along with coordinating wellness events;
  • Provides health education information/ attends meetings;
  • Hosting flu shot clinics and blood drives

Based on the job description what does a typical day look like?
  • Monday morning-employee return to work clearance, Monday afternoon follow up exams with doctor;
  • Tuesday- full day bloodwork, PFTs, audio exams;
  • Wednesday -medical unit work, addressing walk ins;
  • Thursday- follow up exams with the doctor

What is the training process for this role?
  • On the job training, computer based training.

What will the contractors schedule be?
  • 1st shift, 9/80, etc.. 9/80 schedule Monday thru Thursday 6:30am-4:00pm, every other Friday 6:30-3:00pm

  • Proficient in drawing blood, must be able to work until 4:00pm, work independently, familiar with OSHA regulations, required to do AED checks in all site buildings across both campuses
