A Hospital Generalist Registered Nurse (RN) is a versatile and highly skilled nursing professional who is responsible for providing a wide range of patient care services in a hospital setting. This role requires a high level of expertise and experience in various aspects of nursing care. The following are some of the key responsibilities of a Hospital Generalist RN:
Patient assessment: conducting comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their health needs and develop care plans.
Medication administration: administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitoring patients: observing and monitoring patients' conditions and vital signs, and reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
Providing direct patient care: assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals: working with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
Maintaining medical records: keeping accurate and up-to-date medical records and documenting patient care activities.
Education and training: participating in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advances in nursing care.
Emergency response: responding to medical emergencies and providing life-saving interventions as needed.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a current RN license and several years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well under pressure are also important qualities for this role.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
