The role you'll contribute:

This position contributes to the mission of AdventHealth and to the goals of the department by assisting with the development and administration of the facility-wide infection prevention program through surveillance, prevention, and control activities under the direction of the Director of Infection Prevention and Control. The Infection Prevention RN works conjunction with the Infection Prevention team, leadership, hospital staff, providers, contractors, vendors, visitors, and all others that enter the facility to ensure proper implementation and compliance with all aspects of the Infection Prevention and Control Program. The Infection Prevention RN has the authority to enforce policy and to take corrective action, when necessary, if policies are not followed.

Accurately interprets regulatory standards related to infection control or employee health, for all levels of hospital personnel and medical staff as requested or directed. Reports communicable diseases to health departments and assesses the significance for healthcare workers. Actively participates in surveying the hospital and its population for HAI's, hazards, or situations contributing to infections for the purpose of providing quality patient care and a safe working environment. Serves as a resource for orientation, patient care practices and staff education. Monitors aseptic and sterilization practices for patient care practices, supplies, equipment, linen, and trash. availability for Infection Prevention issues. Provides on call coverage as scheduled.

• Assists with development and implementation of the Infection Prevention program regarding surveillance, prevention, and control of hospital acquired Infections HAIs.
• Reviews and revises policies and procedures related to infection control with all department managers as assigned.
• Maintains an ongoing review and analysis of healthcare associated infection data, risk factors, and special studies that relate to Infection Control.
• Reviews laboratory data and reports communicable diseases to appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Provides feedback to selected hospital departments about healthcare associated infection risk of their patients.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

• Active RN License (Florida).
• Two (2) years clinical experience.
