Unit Highlights

Patients treated on this unit commonly present with\rthe same disease processes seen on the medical units, but require more frequent\rnursing intervention and increased resources/monitoring. Often, patients are\rdowngraded from Intensive Care to Intermediate Care, or may be upgraded from a\rmedical status or admitted directly to intermediate care from the ED due to the\racuity of their illness. 3C also takes medical overflow patients, based on the\rneeds of the hospital. Stroke, TIA, Congestive Heart Failure, Atrial\rFibrillation/Atrial Flutter, Chest Pain, NSTEMI, COPD, Pleural Effusion,\rPneumonia, Cellulitis, Complicated Wound Infections, Renal Failure, Substance\rAbuse, and non-orthopedic general surgical cases such as cholecystectomy,\rappendectomy, etc. Number of beds: 16; Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 (IMC), 1:5-6 (Medicine)

Key Responsibilities
\r
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications
\r

\r
• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
\r
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
\r
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
