Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care that is appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit, as directed by nursing management. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies, and professional organizations. The RN is accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise and is responsible to the patient, family, or significant others for the quality of both direct and indirect nursing care delivered. The RN reports directly to the Director of Obstetrical Nursing or designee.
Key Responsibilities:
⢠Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive care that is appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit, as directed by nursing management.
⢠Provide nursing care in accordance with the philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies, and professional organizations.
⢠Be accountable for the safety of nursing care delivered or supervised.
⢠Be responsible to the patient, family, or significant others for the quality of both direct and indirect nursing care delivered.
⢠Report directly to the Director of Obstetrical Nursing or designee.
Required Qualifications:
⢠Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
⢠Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor & Delivery RN.
Preferred Qualifications:
⢠Fetal monitoring certification preferred.
⢠ACLS certification preferred.
Certifications:
⢠Active California RN license.
⢠BLS healthcare provider certification.
Skills:
⢠Basic nursing skills.
⢠Strong communication skills.
⢠Assessment and critical thinking skills.
⢠Ability to maintain confidential information.
Certification: Basic Life Support
