Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, is primarily responsible for professional performance and direct patient care.

The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum.

The registered nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality and fiscal patient care outcomes using the model of care designed by the nursing department and in accordance with established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards of practice

Reports to the unit nurse manager.

Requirements

At least 24 months as an MED SURG TELE RN in a hospital setting

Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.

Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with various members of the health care team, patients, and families.

Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work

Education:

Graduate from an accredited nursing school, associate's or Bachelor of Science degree program; BSN preferred.

Certification & License:

Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse

Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS

FLOAT POOL M/S TELE RN (MUST BE WILLING TO FLOAT TO 8 DIFFERENT UNITS) Days/Eves/Nights Rotate & EOW - 36hrs.

*** RESPONSIBLE FOR CARDIAC MONITORING, CARDIAC DRIPS & READING TELE STRIPS – 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

**** 1. Unit Name: Float Pool RN (must be willing to Float between 8 different units).

2. Brief Unit Description: Float throughout the hospital to all Med/Surg Tele areas (Davenport 5, Davenport 7, Davenport 8, Davenport 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, & Overflow).

3. Experience Required: Two years of acute care hospital experience

. 4. Skill Sets Required: Telemetry monitoring including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours. TR Band experience. Must be able to perform Cardiac Drips and Reading Tele Strips.

5. Clinician to Patient Ratio: Days & Eves up to 5:1. Nights up to 6:1.

6. Patient Population: Care for ED border patients; medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented patients who are transfer ready in the ICU.

7. Bed Count: 371

. 8. Census: Units range from 8 to 41 beds.

9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC, Omnicell, Kronos.

10. Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. BLS.

Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
