Responsibilities:

Perform patient care efficiently and effectively through practice and communication with patients and other staff

Provide care and treatment to ill, injured, and recovering patients

Assess patient condition, administer medication, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records, and provide patients with support and education

Coordinate care plan for patients to ensure best outcomes.

Follow policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.

Work independently under supervision to implement care goals for patients.

Competently assess the patient on a regular basis

All other responsibilities as needed

License/Certification:

AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers

BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure

Work Experience: 

At least 2 years of experience

M/S Tele RN Days/Eves/Nights Rotate & EOW – 36hrs.

1) Unit Name: Davenport 5 Surgical Stepdown Unit.

2) Brief Unit Description: Two Med/Surgical Units. We have one 15 bed unit and one 8 bed Surgical Stepdown Unit.

3) Floating Required: Yes.

4) Rotating Shifts Required: All Day positions are “Day Rotate,” (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a). Rotation is not required for Night positions.

5) Years of Experience Required: 2+ years.

6) Skill Sets Required: Telemetry monitoring by RN (must be able to read tele strips), management of Chest tube, NGT, epidurals, and Capnography

. 7) Skills preferred: Management of Arterial lines and management of neo-synephrine.

8) Clinician to Patient Ratio: Patient ratios are 6-10 patients per PCA and 3-5 patients per RN. Stepdown ratios are 2-3 per RN.

9) Patient Population: We care for patients after the following types of Surgeries: General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma.

10) Bed Count: 23.

11) Census: 23.

12) EMR (Charting System): EPIC.

13) Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. BLS.
