Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother Baby PRN Days

Oh baby! Our Women's Services department at Texas Health Denton is growing by leaps and bounds. We're looking for a Mother Baby RN to join our tight-knit nursing team. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Denton: 3000 N I-35 Denton, Texas 76201

Work hours: PRN Level III/per diem, Day Shift 7a - 7p; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirements

Department highlights:

  • The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10-step facility with the "Best Place to Have a Baby" designation. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • The unit has 23 beds Postpartum/Newborn, Couplet Care, 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 Antepartum rooms and 4 private OB/ED beds
  • Level III NICU with 16 beds with private rooms
  • The unit delivers an average between 175-200 a month.
  • OB Hospitalist 24/7
  • Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7
  • Brand new Women's Tower that opened July 2022


Here's What You Need

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
  • STABLE Program within 6 months of hire
  • 1 year experience as a Registered nurse required
  • Mother Baby experience preferred

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient

• Plans the care of the patient

• Intervenes as appropriate

• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
