Job Summary
Graduate RNs (upcoming new grads or those RNs with less than one year of experience) for all CAMC locations. New Graduates must have obtained their WV Temporary License before their employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care Demonstrate use of basic assessment skills and begin to recognize the value of patient and significant others input. Aware of lab values/test results and history and physical and seek assistance to utilize data in patient care. Formulate diagnosis with minimal help. Emphasis on physiological needs. Recognize learning needs. Seek assistance with prioritizing care. Recognize changes in patient condition and take appropriate action. Seek validation and assistance in formulating individual expected outcomes of care. Need minimal assistance to organize care. Need minimal assistance with evaluation. Need minimal guidance in identifying pertinent information and develop concise documentation. Consistently consider patient rights when providing nursing care. Consistently provide privacy and maintain confidentiality. • Knowledge and Skills Begin to identify own learning needs and seek learning opportunities. Independently perform basic skills and begin to perform advanced skills with minimal assistance. Identify and use available resources with minimal guidance. Report situations according to unit policy with minimal assistance. • Professional Relationships/Leadership Interact with group to achieve outcomes. Demonstrate understanding of roles in group process. Utilize resources, effective communication and problem solving skills to move toward resolutions. Recognize personal strengths and weaknesses in communication, problem solving and conflict resolution. Practice basic cost containment measures in patient care. • Quality Improvement/Research Identify the QI/research process. Assist with collection of QI data. Identify, with minimal assistance, unit specific nursing aspects of care that may need QI monitoring. Demonstrate awareness of unit specific QI monitoring. Maintain department, institution, and licensure (if applicable) required education. Document appropriately. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations. Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution. Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
