OB-GYN
OB-GYN Responsibilities:
The OB Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to obstetric patients throughout their pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum period. This includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in the obstetric unit. The OB Nurse works in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, pediatricians, and anesthesiologists, to provide the best possible care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assessing and monitoring the physical, emotional and educational needs of obstetric patients
• Providing care and support to patients during labor and delivery
• Administering medications and monitoring vital signs as needed
• Assisting with cesarean sections and other surgical procedures
• Educating patients and their families about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
• Documenting patient care in the medical record
• Maintaining a safe and clean environment in the obstetric unit
Qualifications:
• Current RN license
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OB Nurse
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress situations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
The OB Nurse is an essential member of the healthcare team and plays a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and their newborns. This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
