A registered nurse (RN) working in an observation unit is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients who require close monitoring and assessment. The following are the key responsibilities of an RN in an observation unit:
Assessment: The RN is responsible for conducting a thorough assessment of the patient's condition and developing a plan of care based on the results.
Monitoring: The RN must continuously monitor the patient's vital signs and clinical status, and promptly report any changes to the physician.
Medication administration: The RN is responsible for administering medications as ordered by the physician, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
Documentation: The RN must document all patient assessments, treatments, and observations in a clear and concise manner.
Patient education: The RN must educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatments, and any necessary lifestyle changes.
Collaboration: The RN must collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, pharmacists, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care to the patient.
Emergency response: The RN must be prepared to respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.

This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
