Registered Nurse (RN) - Resource

A Resource Registered Nurse (RN) is a healthcare professional who is assigned to fill in for other nurses as needed in a hospital setting. The following is a general job description for a Resource RN:

Responsibilities:

Providing patient care in a variety of departments within the hospital, including but not limited to: medical-surgical, critical care, emergency, and post-operative

Assessing and monitoring patients' conditions and providing appropriate interventions as needed

Administering medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by the physician

Monitoring vital signs, lab values, and other important indicators of patient condition

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and others

Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals

Maintaining patient medical records and updating them as needed

Staying up-to-date on current practices and procedures in various areas of patient care

Requirements:

A valid RN license

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing

Experience in nursing, with a preference for 2 or more years of experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations
