Shift : M-F 8-4:30

  • The Maitland Office Plaza houses our highly skilled teams that support our hospital system including Marketing, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Management, the Credit Union and Human Resources.

The role you'll contribute:

The clinical orientation specialist job description uses the nursing professional development model and includes the roles of educator, consultant, leader and researcher. The clinical orientation specialist models behaviors that reflect continued personal and professional growth. The clinical orientation specialist is cognizant of trends in practice and delivery of care and facilitates the process for new team members to begin their practice at AdventHealth. Assesses team member competency and ensures regulatory and organizational requirements for orientation are met.

  • Responsible for orientation and onboarding of all levels of team members.
  • Individualizes, plans, implements and evaluates orientation programs in response to health care trends, team member learning needs and organizational goals. Maintains knowledge of national, local and facility trends in nursing practice.
  • Utilizes principles of adult learning to provide orientation consistent with Novice to Expert and differing levels of patient care across the continuum. Integrates published research and current literature to develop and implement learning activities.
  • Utilizes the process of systematic inquiry and continuous evaluation to develop educational activities. Promotes continuous improvement to orientation programs. Collaborates to implement change. Updates orientation content as needed.
  • Contributes educational expertise to facilitate and enhance achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of leadership principles and management skills. Communicates effectively.
  • Contributes to the research process and participates in hospital-based research. Provides learning opportunities which enable team members to utilize research findings in practice.
  • Participates in education-focused systematic inquiry on topics such as health care outcomes, issues, concepts, theories and the learning process.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's degree in health-related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of acute care experience

PREFERRED:
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Prior leadership experience (formal or informal)
  • Prior teaching experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
  • Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS certification
