Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery - Full-time

  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours/week, 7:00PM-7:00AM with holiday and weekend requirements

Labor & Delivery Department highlights:

• Newly Expanded Labor & Delivery Unit to a 15-bed LDR and 3 OR suites

• Separate 26-bed Mother/Baby area and a 16-bed Level III NICU

We average 285-300 deliveries a month

Here's What You Need

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma Required

• BSN preferred

• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

• One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required

• One year or more of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred

• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required

• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days

• NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

• AWHONN - Advanced Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required Or
IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required

• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

• Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients

• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient

• Plans the care of the patient

• Intervenes as appropriate

• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
