Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible New Grad Registered Nurses!
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
All New Graduate RN's (or those with less than 12 months of RN experience), hired into regular status positions are automatically enrolled in our 12-month Nurse Residency Program in conjunction with their unit-based employment.
  • Position Summary
    • The New Graduate RN is responsible for performing various duties in the care of patients in accordance with established protocols, policies and procedures at Stephens Memorial Hospital. In the New Graduate Program, the new nurse is working progressively towards competency and independence in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The program is intended to support the new graduate nurse in making the transition from student to competent clinical practitioner.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
    • License/Certifications:Current BLS certification; NCLEX Exam Date
    • Experience: ACLS/PALS per department requirements within 1 year of training
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff
    • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination
    • Proficient computer skills
