This posting will be used to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain opened until the position has been filled.

Why does the job exist?

This position will direct and coordinate the admissions process on a daily basis; Identifies problems or concerns and initiates appropriate action as applicable; Develop and implement MEP, ensure interim reviews and annual appraisals are completed as per agency policy.

How does it get done?

Directs the management and functions of the Admissions Department in a manner that ensures quality, safety, and advocacy for the patients and staff according to agency policy and procedure; JCAHO Accreditation standards; DOH Policy and Procedure; and in accordance with good medical practice.

Who are the customers?

Staff at the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center.

Know clinical and nursing standards and practices accordingly for all ages 18 to 90 plus. Strive to continue learning and be receptive to new information and methodologies. Strive to learn and incorporate management skills in performance of duties.

Minimum Qualification

Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico OR eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements OR Eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and five (5) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Employment Requirements

This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Certification from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the office setting with exposure to visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and telephone usage.
