Novant Health is hiring a Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) registered nurse for the Day shift at our New Hanover Regional Medical Center location in Wilmington, NC. We're offering up to a $30,000 sign-on bonus as well as $7,500 relocation.

We're seeking compassionate and patient driven nurses to join our Surgical I team! Our unit comprises of 43 beds with 9 being post-surgical stepdown. We have a nurse-to-patient ratio averaging 5:6 and 3:1 in stepdown. Given the high modality of the cases we handle, our nursing team is closely connected, offering support within the workplace. Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized care and monitor patients closely.
  • Work with healthcare teams to develop care plans for patients.
  • Manage complex conditions and perform necessary procedures.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on care and treatment options.
  • Accurately document patient information and care interventions in medical records.


Job Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • 1 year of acute nursing experience, required.
  • 2 Years of med-surg or critical care experience in an acute hospital setting, preferred.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
