A tele-RN (telephone triage registered nurse) is a registered nurse who provides healthcare advice and support over the phone to patients and their families. The job duties of a tele-RN typically include the following:
Answering patient calls and assessing their health concerns, symptoms and medical history.
Providing health advice, education and support to patients and their families.
Triaging patient calls and determining the urgency of their health concerns.
Referring patients to appropriate healthcare providers or emergency services if necessary.
Documenting patient interactions and updating electronic medical records.
Staying current on healthcare developments, protocols and procedures.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
The ideal candidate for a tele-RN position should have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and experience in patient triage and assessment. They should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and have strong problem-solving skills. Additionally, tele-RNs should have a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
