Position Summary/Essential Duties:
The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision. Essential duties include:
• Mechanical ventilation
• Medicated aerosol delivery
• Airway clearance therapy
• Patient monitoring
• Oxygen and humidity therapy
• Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)
Required For All Jobs
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education Requirements:
Associates Degree or Bachelors in Respiratory
Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:
• Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Licensed to practice respiratory therapy in Ohio
Preferred Qualifications:
This role is for our special care nursery, women laboring, and infant resuscitation during deliveries. Must have at least 2 years of experience in the NICU and attending deliveries. The schedule is for, (3) 12 hour day shifts, Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays. There is 25% travel to our main campus in Cleveland (Rainbow Babies & Children's) to maintain skills.
Employees who are hired to work 35 hours or more will be awarded a $10,000 sign on bonus: $3,000 to be paid out the next applicable pay period after 90 days of employment, $7,000 to be paid out following the 1 year mark, based on performance.
