Job Description:
  • PURPOSE OF JOB : Provides seamless registration/reception/scheduling services at the Endoscopy Unit of Doylestown Hospital. Pre-register/Register outpatients in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for facility services. To act as a resource to the Nursing Department as well as other departments throughout the organization to maintain schedule flow. Liaison between internal and external customers (i.e. Internal: Directors, Managers, External: Physicians/offices, patients, families and volunteers).
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Provides excellent customer service by obtaining accurate information in a
confidential and respectful manner. Maintains competency according to unit-specific standards.
  • Initiates/Complete an accurate registration.
  • Verify patient's insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Secure and/or verify authorization for service in accordance with payer guidelines and requirements.
  • Enter physician orders accurately.
  • Identify and collect patient's financial responsibility.
  • Demonstrates technical skills in computer data entry, maintaining patient charts, transcribing orders
filing and appropriate documentation.

g. Utilizes good communication skills with physicians/offices, nurses, patients, family members, volunteers,

and all other healthcare team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.
  • Accurately registers patients in Meditech software system.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills in all interactions with internal and external customers including patients, physicians/offices, nurses and support staff.
  • Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.
5. Pre-register/Register patients, secure and/or verify authorization for service, enter physician orders accurately,

identify and collect patient's financial responsibility.

  • High School or GED completion.
  • Experience: Varies based on department and position
Keyboard and computer skills
