This position is responsible for activities that support Optum Clinical Services with regulatory and delegation contractual requirements as outlined in the Clinical Services Delegation Oversight framework.

Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm PST

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate our company's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each internal and external customer
  • Assist with projects geared to improve efficiency and cost savings
  • Assists in preparing custom denial letters as requested by Care Management team
  • Prepares member notification mailings for specialist terminations using mass mailing processes
  • Document preparation for health plan audits
  • Interaction with various health care facilities or providers for medical record request and retrievals
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with health care facilities
  • Assists with file preparation for health plan audits
  • Requests medical records to assist in appeals requests from health plans
  • Maintains tracking logs
  • Uses, protects, and discloses our patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of healthcare industry experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel (creating graphs and charts)
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm PST

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of office experience in healthcare industry
  • Compliance or quality improvement experience
  • Auditing experience or utilization management experience

Soft Skills:

  • Computer literate
  • Proven experience with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to type 40 wpm
  • Filing skills
  • Customer service oriented

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
