Job Summary

This position provides full administrative assistance to the professional staff and members of the Minnesota Crime Victims Reimbursement Board. The Reimbursement Program Assistant for the Board plays a key role In supporting the Board in Its decision-making, and maintaining an accurate record of Board decisions. The Administrative Assistant Is also the primary contact person for administrative hearings and applicants and communicates frequently with victims of crime, Board members and other criminal Justice professionals, This person applies the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 611A.62 • 611A.67, Minnesota Rules 3060.0100 • 3050.4100 and Reimbursement Policies and Procedures,

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Communication skills sufficient to assist and provide customer service to clientele where English may not be their primary language;explain the reasons for procedures and rules so others understand the information they are being given.
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records and balance and resolve discrepancies in areas like determining eligibility, level of benefits and/or payroll
  • Skill inword processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications to prepare reports, emails, memos, invoices and enter data
  • Knowledge of Legal and medical terminology sufficient to draft related document and correspondence with accuracy and update databases

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience related to the criminal justice process and crime victim issues
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may involve maintaining a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
