Insight Global's renewable energy client is looking for a Relay Tester for the Local 97 Union in Fulton, NY. As part of their daily responsibilities, this person is required to coordinate technical activities under supervision and may occasionally lead, direct, and provide liaison for complex work. They oversee and personally perform perform scheduled inspections, tests, and calibration of protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data systems, hydroelectric generator control, and transformer protection. Additionally, they investigate trouble related to these systems and initiate corrective actions as needed. Field revisions are made to ensure proper operation and performance, and any system or equipment problems are promptly addressed through analysis and advisement to supervision.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Relay Tester or equivalent
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing the following in their hydroelectric stations:

o Complex protective relaying schemes

o Metering

o Remote control and data systems

o Hydroelectric generator control and protection

o Transformer protection
- Ability to investigate trouble, initiate corrective actions, and make field revisions to ensure proper operation
- Analyze system equipment issues, determine operability or repair needs, and advise supervision on unusual events
- Valid driver's license and a motor vehicle report that shows driving history

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
