Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Reliability Technician to join our Lumber facility in Rome, GA!



Salary:
  • Our starting pay is at $32.90/hr. up to $39.06/hr. depending on experience.
  • You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.


Shift:
  • Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • The week of orientation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and you will be assigned your regular shift after your orientation.

What You Will Do

• Conduct vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound testing as appropriate to monitor all plant equipment which will include fans, blowers, electrical motors, gearboxes, compressors, debarkers, air leaks, conveyors, etc.

• Perform Precision Maintenance on plant equipment that are misaligned, unbalanced, loose, or found not to be operating optimally.

• Participate and support in troubleshooting vibration issues in machine center areas; aiding millwrights will tear downs/inspections relating to vibration alerts.

• Assist in developing solutions and making recommendations on plant maintenance with the help of analytical tools.

• Utilize various computer systems to trend and analyze data, identify failure modes and equipment history to address repetitive failures.

• Help to maintain a comprehensive plant vibration sensor database (Master Data List) that will support the plant reliability improvement program and warranty programs for sensors, HUBs, and repeaters. (GOALs = >95% Sensor availability and < .150ips overall site vibration average)

• Assist in applying value analysis to make maintenance decisions, i.e., repair/replace and repair/redesign.

• Participate in the maintenance optimization process that determines frequency, indicators, and inspection methods for Planned/Predictive Maintenance

• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations including wearing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment

• Atonix/A360 Ticket management

• Work closely with the Collaborative Service Center (CSC) on ALL vibration alerts/issues and keeping Atonix issues updated.

• Attendance to and passing of a CAT 1 Vibration class, Level 1 IR, Level 1 Ultrasound NDT or Structure Borne-Airborne, and further education and trainings.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Specialized certifications (CAT 1 Vibration, Level 1 Infrared, Structure/Airborne Ultrasonic/Non-destructive testing, or other equivalent degrees/certifications as determined by the company)

• Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies

• Base knowledge of RCM (reliability centered maintenance)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience using precision maintenance instruments (i.e. micrometer, dial indicator, laser alignment, etc.)

• Experience using a computer or tablet for documentation and/or record-keeping functions.
