Insight Globals large building material manufacturing client is looking for a Thermal Staff Engineer to join their engineering team. This role reports directly to the Thermal Engineering and Sustainability Manager. The company has a number of in-house engineering services that support its 50+ manufacturing plants including structural, mechanical, electrical, process, control and technical. The types of projects range in size and scope from large capital projects that begin in the conceptual phase all the way through final design and construction, to plant request projects when individual plants call for support for various electrical needs. Responsibilities include:

Designing, optimizing, and commissioning thermal solutions for internal processes including drying, calcining, and heating systems.
Troubleshooting, commissioning, field assistance, research, evaluation, development, and application of new thermal processes and methods.
Set standards related to thermal system design.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, plant personnel, and vendors.
Travel to manufacturing plants for site visits.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, manufacturing, or electrical)
5-15 years of experience in thermodynamics, burner design, fluid mechanics, direct combustion, process heating equipment, etc.
Strong field experience (commissioning, troubleshooting, start up, etc.)
Knowledgeable in both detailed design and field visits.
Displays a leadership attitude and is comfortable giving direction.
Ability to effectively communicate and work from home.
