THIS IS A 1099 CONTRACTING POSITION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Manual Tester to join a client of ours working remotely on EST hours, Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate will have at minimum 2--3 years of professional experience in software testing, with a strong understanding of testing principles and methodologies. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality of the clients software products.

Responsibilities:

Software Testing

Participate in software development project teams, collaborating closely with developers, designers, and product managers.

Conduct functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing for both mobile and web applications.

Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including Test Plans, Test Cases, Bug Reports, Test Strategies, and Test Reports.

Understand and analyze project architecture, including knowledge of MLM architecture work.

Test Documentation Development

Analyze requirements to create detailed test cases and checklists.

Utilize bug-tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, and TestRail for effective issue management.

Prepare quality reports and test results for stakeholders.

Define and implement a Manual Testing Strategy and provide manual testing reports.

API Testing

Utilize tools like Postman and Swagger for API testing.

Verify HTTP requests/responses and analyze results, ensuring compliance with RESTful standards.

Database Testing

Execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy and operations within databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL).

Ensure data validation and verification within the system.

Version Control

Demonstrate a basic understanding of Git, including cloning, committing changes (pull, push, commit), and using repositories to check for fixes and changes.

CI/CD Processes

Understand Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes and the role of QA within these frameworks.

Experience monitoring and testing builds using tools like Azure.

Mobile Testing

Utilize mobile app testing tools such as Android Studio, Xcode, Appium, and TestFlight.

Conduct testing on real devices and emulators.

Required Skills & Experience

2--3 years of professional experience in software testing.

Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and testing levels.

Understanding of testing priorities, principles, and types, including UI/UX testing, cross-browser/platform testing, and compatibility testing.

Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
