Job Description:

Publishing Review Specialist needs 2 years of copyediting, proofreading, and/or other content quality assurance experience.

Publishing Review Specialist requires:
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline with 1 to 3 years of experience in related field.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • At least 2 years of print and/or digital production or publishing experience.
  • At least 2 years of copyediting, proofreading, and/or other content quality assurance experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Very good organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to appropriately prioritize.
  • Knowledge of editorial and English-language conventions.
  • Understand fundamentals of print and/or digital production and publishing processes
  • Ability to drive on-time, on-budget, high-quality projects.
  • Knowledge of standard publishing technology tools.
  • Fluency in Spanish or other non-English language, when required


Publishing Review Specialist duties:
  • Coordinates the provision, oversight, review, and on-schedule delivery of content quality assurance services for assigned print and/or digital projects.
  • Reviews and edits content in English or non-English Languages so that it is grammatically correct, clear, consistent, accurate, pedagogically aligned, and complete and adheres to required styles and publishing and production standards and specifications, following best practices and taking necessary actions to ensure product quality.
  • Helps guide assigned projects through the department on time and on budget, helping manage external resources as needed, monitoring status and schedule, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Works collaboratively with other functional groups to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
  • Content Quality Assurance-Ensures that all project deliverables meet or exceed established standards and specifications for content language, consistency, style, and accuracy and for publishing and production quality.
  • Understands and follows best practices for copyediting, proofreading, indexing, fact checking, problem solving, and/or other content quality assurance reviews related to print and/or digital final text and final content presentation.
  • Understands products, processes, workflows, and procedures.
  • Works in accordance with acceptable operating procedures.
  • May help create, update, and communicate content quality assurance plans and procedures, and support submission of quality KPI survey information, when relevant.
  • Helps monitor and assess contractor and vendor Partner resource performance and takes necessary actions to improve product quality.
  • 20%- Project and Resource Management
  • Efficiently and effectively delivers assigned projects while meeting expected content quality assurance standards within required time frames.
  • Adheres to project schedules and established processes, monitoring and communicating status, troubleshooting issues, taking appropriate actions based on sound decision-making, and appropriately escalating risks.
